Novelty curtains come in many different colors and designs. There are literally endless choices when it comes to the patterns and colors that are available to select from. The best way to pick your curtain is to first decorate your bathroom, then decide what shower curtain would match best. When you do this, you will make sure your shower curtain matches everything else you buy in the room, and you will also make sure that you get everything right the first time around, avoiding having to return stuff later.
For all other drape and curtain styles we recommend a visible curtain rod just because it give you the advantage of emphasizing your style. That could mean choosing a natural wood that matches the carved wooden elephant coffee table (everyone has one, right?) or Hanging a gold -toned curtain rod to complement the warm tones in your room. What about using a colorful metal curtain rod to go with that casual, playful look in the sun room? You can see how a decorative, mostly visible curtain rod can be a great choice for your window, and even if your guests never had a clue your choice can show them what a great decorator you really are!
While sewing your curtains make sure that they are not too long-they should just clear the ground. Although long, flowing curtains are beautiful to look at, the extra length will pick up dust and will need cleaning often. Fabrics differ so be sure to check if your choice drapes well. Hold it up against light to be sure the weight doesn't distort the fabric. If you are picking up a curtain with either printed or woven patterns on it, take care while sewing. These patterns will be repeated at regular intervals and you must start your hem at the same place for every cut. While buying material for your window curtains you will usually have two widths to choose from: 54 inches and between 110 and 118 inches wide. The latter is used if you decide not to line your fabric and don't want your curtains to have seams.
