Rings and pinch clips are similar: they slide on the curtain rod and attach to the curtains. In other words the rod and rings or clips are visible, sort of like some shower curtains. Brackets are used to hold decorative rods on the wall. They come in every imaginable color, material, style... You won't have trouble finding a pair to fit your room.
While sewing your curtains make sure that they are not too long-they should just clear the ground. Although long, flowing curtains are beautiful to look at, the extra length will pick up dust and will need cleaning often. Fabrics differ so be sure to check if your choice drapes well. Hold it up against light to be sure the weight doesn't distort the fabric. If you are picking up a curtain with either printed or woven patterns on it, take care while sewing. These patterns will be repeated at regular intervals and you must start your hem at the same place for every cut. While buying material for your window curtains you will usually have two widths to choose from: 54 inches and between 110 and 118 inches wide. The latter is used if you decide not to line your fabric and don't want your curtains to have seams.
If you want to dress up your small windows like bathroom window and other narrow windows, the swing arm curtain rod is the best idea for you. The spring tension rods can also be useful in your bathroom windows if the wall is covered with ceramic. As these rods do not carry much weight, make it a point to use them for shower curtains.
